From Snapmaker's $140M raise to Bambu Lab's 3-million-unit hub, China's consumer 3D printing surge is reshaping the entire APAC additive manufacturing map.

China Sets the Pace — Again

The first half of July confirmed what the shipment numbers already hinted: Asia's additive manufacturing momentum is increasingly consumer-led, and China is doing the heavy lifting. The latest AMPulse Asia roundup tracks 11 developments across China, Japan, South Korea, and Australia, but the through-line is unmistakable — desktop and prosumer 3D printing is now a strategic industry, not a hobby.

Snapmaker Closes RMB 1 Billion Series C

Snapmaker closed roughly RMB 1 billion (about US$140 million) in Series C financing led by Cathay Capital, with follow-on participation from Meituan-linked funds, GL Ventures, and Shunwei Capital. The multi-function printer maker says the capital goes into products, supply chain, and international distribution — a signal that the 'one machine, print + laser + CNC' category is maturing into a serious export play.

Bambu Lab's 3-Million-Unit Manufacturing Hub

Bambu Lab's subsidiary Zhuhe Technology acquired an 83,591-square-meter site in Shenzhen for RMB 141.2 million (about US$20.8 million). The planned complex will build printers, components, and materials with stated annual capacity of more than 3 million systems. Combined with Bambu's existing volume, the move cements Shenzhen's role as the literal factory floor of consumer 3D printing.

Metal and Components Cash In Too

It isn't just finished machines. Yuding Additive Manufacturing — a Beihang University-linked metal AM company — advanced to the Shanghai STAR Market IPO inquiry stage, seeking RMB 1.802 billion (about US$250 million) for aerospace-grade capacity. Jiangsu Runice 3D (the Phaetus brand) raised nearly RMB 100 million (about US$14 million) to expand hot ends, extruders, and multi-material components. And Xikong Zhizao launched the i3D-AD650S-Z, a 660 x 660 x 740 mm metal system pairing four forming lasers with four in-situ strengthening lasers that can lift 7075 aluminum hardness by up to 40%.

Japan and South Korea: Defense, Dental, Construction

Japan's Serendix ran high-speed projectile impact tests on 3D-printed concrete structures for protective shelters, with results headed to Farnborough 2026 via Japan's ATLA booth. Polyuse passed 300 cumulative construction-printing projects with roughly 40 Polyuse One systems deployed. In South Korea, Partners Lab and KITECH joined the U.S.-led DMX field-manufacturing exercise tied to RIMPAC 2026 — the first Korean team to do so — printing aluminum and titanium parts on an EOS M290 in a secure field workflow. GENOSS showed off its 3D-printed spinal implant lineup at a Korean spine conference.

Australia: Hydrogen Endurance Racing

Conflux Technology and Italian race-car maker Dallara are co-developing an additively manufactured liquid-hydrogen heat exchanger for endurance racing, applying complex internal channels to cryogenic cooling and lining up against the ACO's hydrogen roadmap for Le Mans.

Why It Matters

The APAC story is no longer 'who can print a benchy.' It's about vertically integrating an entire consumer category — machines, components, materials, and now public capital markets — faster than any Western competitor. For buyers, that means relentless price and feature pressure. For the industry, it means the center of gravity for desktop 3D printing has decisively shifted east.
