Anycubic has unified its slicer, mobile app, and printer firmware in one software update, promising tighter control and fewer repetitive tasks for users.
What changed
Anycubic shipped a broad software update this week that pulls its slicer, mobile app, and printer firmware into a tighter package. The company says the goal is simple: give owners more direct control over how prints start, monitor, and fail without jumping between different tools.
The centerpiece is Anycubic Slicer Next 2.0. The update introduces an upgraded Workspace that groups device status, file management, and print history in one view. A new Print History search lets you find past jobs quickly, while improved cloud and local file management supports batch operations and folder creation.
On the firmware side, Anycubic pushed updates that reduce stringing and relax filament mixing restrictions for multi-material prints. Kobra X-series owners need firmware version 2.0.0 before the new slicer features will work correctly.
Why it matters
This kind of unification is becoming table stakes for 3D printer software. Users do not want to manage three separate apps just to get a print going. By bringing slicer settings, remote monitoring, and firmware updates into one flow, Anycubic is catching up with what buyers now expect from budget machines.
The update also signals that Anycubic is investing in its software stack, not just hardware. If the company continues to ship meaningful slicer improvements, it could strengthen the value proposition of its FDM lineup against competitors that still rely on third-party slicers.
