TRUMPF's additive manufacturing arm is now ATLIX, and its machines carry the xBUILD name starting September 1st.
ATLIX, formerly TRUMPF Additive Manufacturing, has rebranded its entire product line under the new xBUILD name. The change took effect on September 1st, 2026, meaning all new machine orders ship with the updated branding immediately.
What xBUILD Actually Means
The xBUILD name replaces the old TruPrint label across ATLIX's four systems. The company says the 'x' stands for the combination of expertise, technology, and application, while 'BUILD' points to the core purpose of the machines: enabling high-quality, scalable production. The rebrand also ties ATLIX products to a broader 'xWORLD' ecosystem that the company has been developing.
Alongside the name change comes a new visual identity. Machines now have a redesigned graphic panel across the build chamber. The underlying hardware is unchanged, so existing TruPrint buyers are not left with orphaned equipment.
Why This Matters Now
The timing is deliberate. ATLIX will show the new-look machines at IMTS in Chicago (South Building, Level 3, booth 338365) and at Formnext in Frankfurt (Stand 12-D99). Both shows attract the exact industrial buyers ATLIX wants: automotive, aerospace, and medical manufacturers evaluating metal AM for production use.
Marino Ferrarese, Head of Sales and Marketing at ATLIX, said the past year has brought strong customer confidence and growing international interest. He noted the company is now focused on expanding into new markets and strengthening its global presence. Several developments are already underway, with Formnext as a key launch window.
The Bigger Picture
Rebranding a product line is not just a logo swap. For a company like ATLIX, the name change signals that additive manufacturing is no longer a side project for TRUMPF. It is a standalone business with its own ecosystem and market ambitions. The xWORLD framing suggests software, services, and connectivity will follow the hardware rebrand in coming months.
Industrial buyers should note that service agreements, spare parts, and technical documentation will gradually shift to the xBUILD naming convention. ATLIX has not announced a sunset date for TruPrint branding in its support channels.
