A fall tech sale drops the Bambu Lab P1S to $349, the cheapest it has ever been and $50 cheaper than its previous low.
The Bambu Lab P1S just hit its lowest price ever. A fall retailer sale has the enclosed Core XY 3D printer listed at $349, beating the previous record low of $399 by $50. That is a solid discount on a machine that still holds its own against newer budget contenders.
What you get for $349
The P1S arrives semi-assembled and is ready to print in about 15 minutes. Its 256 x 256 x 256 mm build volume sits inside a fully enclosed chamber, which keeps temperatures stable for high-temperature materials like ABS and ASA. The textured PEI spring steel bed makes part removal easy, and the built-in timelapse camera lets you monitor prints remotely through the Bambu app.
Automatic bed leveling, preset profiles for common filaments, and a 0.4 mm all-metal hotend capable of reaching 300 degrees Celsius are all standard. The enclosed design also contains noise and keeps curious pets or children away from moving parts while printing.
Is the P1S still relevant?
Bambu Lab released the P2S earlier this year, and the newer model starts around $549. The P2S adds an upgraded extruder, improved electronics, and a slightly larger chamber. If you can stretch the budget by two hundred dollars, that is the better long-term purchase. But at $349, the original P1S is hard to argue with for a first 3D printer or a second machine for the garage.
The P1S still prints fast. Bambu rates it at 500 mm/s with 20 m/s^2 acceleration, and in real-world testing that translates to quick benchy boats and functional prototypes without babysitting. The built-in activated carbon filter is a nice touch if you print with ABS in a small room.
Should you grab one?
If you have been waiting for an excuse to buy your first enclosed printer, this is it. $349 is aggressive pricing for a machine that includes a camera, app control, and a proven ecosystem. Stock may not last through the weekend, so if you want the deal, move fast.
