The P1S is on sale for $349 right now, the lowest price we have seen. Here is what makes it worth picking up at that price.
Bambu Lab's P1S 3D printer is on sale for $349, and that is a new all-time low. The previous sale price was $399, so this is a $50 drop that puts the P1S firmly in impulse-buy territory.
What You Get for $349
The P1S arrives semi-assembled and can be up and running in about 15 minutes. It is a fully enclosed printer, which is a big deal if you plan to print with high-temperature materials like ABS or nylon. The build volume is 256 x 256 x 256 mm, and the textured PEI spring steel sheet makes part removal easy.
Inside the motion system, the P1S hits up to 20,000 mm/s² acceleration. That is fast for a printer at this price. The direct drive extruder paired with Bambu Lab's standard 0.4mm nozzle gives good pressure control and less filament waste during retraction. Automatic bed leveling is included, along with a built-in time-lapse camera so you can watch prints remotely over WiFi.
The P2S Context
Bambu Lab has since released the P2S, which currently runs around $549. That is a $200 gap. The P2S improves on a few things, but for most beginners and hobbyists the P1S is still more than capable. At $349, it is hard to find another enclosed printer with this feature set at a lower price.
Is This Worth It?
If you have been waiting for a good entry point into 3D printing, this is one of the better opportunities we have seen. The P1S earned an Editor's Choice award in our review, and the enclosure alone justifies part of the cost. The AMS multi-color unit is an optional add-on later if you want to expand.
