Flashforge's new CJ270 desktop printer uses material jetting to produce over 10 million colors in a single print. Pre-orders are open now with shipping expected in October.
Flashforge CJ270 full-color 3D printing
Flashforge is shipping its long-awaited CJ270 desktop full-color 3D printer. The machine uses MultiJet Printing (MJP) technology to deposit CMYK, white, and clear materials layer by layer. That means gradients, skin tones, and transparent sections come out in a single job, not from swapping filaments.
The CJ270 claims over 10 million color combinations and a 7 micron layer thickness. Water-soluble support material is built in. Flashforge says this puts professional-quality color on a desktop, not just in industrial labs that cost six figures.
Pre-orders opened September 9, 2026, with a $3,999 price tag. Flashforge expects to ship the first units on October 15, 2026. Buyers get a 30-day return window from delivery.
Who is this for?
Creative studios printing figurines and prototypes, educators who want color without painting, and design teams needing fast visual models. This is not a budget machine. But compared to industrial full-color systems that run $150,000 or more, the CJ270 is a dramatic price drop.
The catch
MJP is slower than FDM, and the build area is compact. If you need functional parts in a hurry, stick to filament. If you need a full-color prototype that looks like the final product, this could change your workflow.
