Kentstrapper's new Mille printer offers a full cubic metre of build space, interchangeable toolheads, and an AI assistant for remote support.
Kentstrapper has entered the large-format FDM market with the Mille, a printer that offers a full cubic metre of build volume. The Italian company previewed the machine at Mecspe 2026 in Bologna and is now taking orders.
The build volume measures 1,000 by 1,000 by 1,000 millimetres. The frame is steel, and the enclosure heats up to 60 degrees Celsius. The build plate reaches 120 degrees and splits into six independently heated zones. An integrated scanner maps the bed before each print and applies automatic compensation.
Material flexibility is strong. The Mille supports PLA, PETG, ASA, ABS, and TPU. It also handles reinforced nylons, PPS-CF, and ESD-safe materials. Nozzles swap between 0.4 and 1.4 millimetres. Layer heights run from 0.1 to 1.2 millimetres.
The toolhead change system is magnetic and tool-free. Kentstrapper claims you can swap extruders in under 30 seconds. Dual extruders with a continuity mode keep prints running when one spool runs out.
Connectivity covers Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and USB. The printer runs Klipper firmware and uses a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen. Power-loss recovery handles jobs up to 72 hours.
Remote management happens through the KS Ai System. The Mille connects through an outbound encrypted tunnel to Cloudflare servers. Users get Telegram notifications with camera images. An AI assistant named Clara answers support questions using a knowledge base from past tickets. The system also scans fleets for offline printers and print-blocking errors.
Kentstrapper used the Mille to print an electric-vehicle battery enclosure longer than 700 millimetres in ASA. The part came out as a single component rather than an assembly.
The Mille competes with machines like BigRep's ONE.5, which offers a similar build volume. The value proposition is clear: large polymer parts without assembly steps. Kentstrapper is selling the printer as a production tool, not just a prototyping machine.
