Liqcreate launched its first CE Class 1 registered dental resin, Tray, on September 7. The material prints custom impression trays on DLP, LCD and laser systems.
Dental labs looking for a certified resin to produce custom impression trays now have a new option. Liqcreate officially released its Tray photopolymer on September 7, 2026. The material carries a CE Class 1 registration in the European Union, meaning it meets the regulatory requirements for medical devices used in dental workflows.
Tray is formulated for DLP, LCD and laser-based resin printers that operate at 385-405 nm. It prints at layer heights up to 200 microns, which keeps production times short without sacrificing the rigidity needed for stable impression trays. The cured resin withstands steam sterilization at 121 degrees C and 134 degrees C, so trays can go through standard autoclave cycles.
The resin is compatible with a broad range of open-format printers, including models from Elegoo, Anycubic, Phrozen, Creality, Prusa and several others. Liqcreate published verified print settings for many of these machines on its website.
Why custom trays matter
Custom impression trays improve the accuracy of intraoral scans and traditional impressions. They are used for implants, dentures, crowns, bridges and complex full-mouth cases. Off-the-shelf stock trays do not fit every patient, which can lead to distortion. A 3D-printed tray made from an exact scan of the patient's dental arch solves that problem.
Liqcreate Tray is currently registered as a Class 1 medical device across most of Europe, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, the UK, Italy, Spain and the Nordic countries. It is not yet registered in the United States or Switzerland.
The resin joins Liqcreate's growing dental portfolio, which already includes Dental Model Pro Beige, Dental Model Pro Grey, Gingiva Mask and Separation Model resins.
