PharmaTher Holdings has started working with Singapore-based Craft Health to test whether 3D printing can produce personalized peptide doses at a compounding pharmacy. The partnership, announced July 29, 2026, focuses on Craft Health's CraftMake pharmaceutical 3D printer and its ability to handle the specific demands of peptide-based medicines.
Why peptides are a hard print
Peptides break down under heat and UV light. Most pharmaceutical 3D printers rely on one or both of those steps. CraftMake uses semi-solid paste extrusion at room temperature, with no thermal curing. That single detail makes it relevant for peptides rather than just another generic bioprinter.
The system can print multi-material and pill-in-pill structures, which means a single dose could combine ingredients or stagger their release. A GMP-oriented version called CraftMake Production Plus runs in an enclosed environment with dual printheads. Craft Health reports roughly plus or minus 1 percent dosing accuracy and above 99 percent repeatability.
The compounding pharmacy angle
The current agreement is an evaluation, not a manufacturing deal. PharmaTher and Craft Health will test formulations, dosage designs, and release profiles for six target peptides before either side commits further. If the tests work, the end goal is to place CraftMake printers inside Section 503A compounding pharmacies. PharmaTher would supply the peptide strategy and prescriber relationships. Craft Health would supply the hardware, software, and formulation science.
That model matters because fixed-dose manufacturing is still the norm. Adjusting a dose today usually means manual compounding, not a repeatable GMP process. PharmaTher's Personaliz3D Peptides division is trying to change that.
Who else is printing medicines
CurifyLabs sells GMP-developed pharmaceutical inks that let hospital pharmacists print patient-tailored medicines on-site. At the research level, Max Planck Institute and UC Davis scientists developed a shape-based approach to controlling how fast a pill releases its drug. The common thread is the same: move away from one-size-fits-all tablets toward doses matched to individual patients.
Craft Health co-founder and CEO Dr. Wei Jiang Goh said the fit was direct. PharmaTher's Chianelli put it plainly: the objective is a repeatable technology platform, not just repackaged compounding. Whether that platform ends up in pharmacies or stays in pilot labs depends on the next round of testing.
