restor3d's MyFit portal lets orthopedic patients track their custom implant from design to surgery day, with an interactive 3D model available before the procedure.

A New Layer of Transparency for Personalized Implants

restor3d launched MyFit by restor3d Digital Suite today, a patient engagement platform that gives people visibility into their personalized orthopedic implant journey from initial design through surgery readiness. The system is available to all restor3d surgeons with a patient-specific case starting September 8, 2026.

The core of MyFit is a patient portal that displays an interactive 3D model of the patient's own implant before the procedure. For hip and knee patients, MyFit Connect delivers automated SMS updates at key milestones: enrollment, design completion, manufacturing, and surgery scheduling. Shoulder and foot-and-ankle patients get access to the full portal with the 3D model view. No password is required; patients log in with basic identifying information.

Why Patient Visibility Matters

Kurt Jacobus, CEO of restor3d, said the launch reflects what patients increasingly expect. People undergoing joint replacement want to understand the technology designed specifically for them. MyFit gives them that connection without adding administrative work to the surgeon's office.

The platform also enrolls patients in the restor3d Patient-Specific Registry, a prospective longitudinal study designed to collect patient-reported outcomes from baseline through five years following surgery. The registry covers knee, hip, shoulder and foot-and-ankle procedures and is expected to enroll approximately 2,250 patients. Participating surgeons get access to their patients' reported outcomes, creating a feedback loop between personalized technology and long-term clinical evidence.

The restor3d Business in Context

restor3d designs and manufactures patient-specific 3D-printed orthopedic implants, including the Ossera AFX Ankle Fusion Cage System, which received full commercial launch earlier in 2026. The company raised $104 million to scale its personalized orthopedic platform. Its implants are built around CT-scan data from each individual patient, so every device is anatomically matched to the recipient's bone geometry.

The MyFit launch is a software and patient experience play layered on top of that hardware business. restor3d is betting that connected data around personalized implants will matter to both patients and payers as value-based care models grow. A registry with five years of patient-reported outcomes is a meaningful clinical asset.

What It Means for the Industry

3D-printed orthopedic implants have crossed from novelty to standard of care in several procedures. The gap has been the patient-facing side: most people have no idea what their implant looks like or how it was designed. MyFit closes that gap directly.

The platform also serves restor3d's evidence-building goals. Patient-reported outcomes collected through a digital portal are easier to scale than traditional follow-up surveys. If the registry hits its enrollment target, it could become one of the largest longitudinal datasets for patient-specific orthopedic implants. That data has value for FDA submissions, payer negotiations, and future product design.
