The German ceramics manufacturer passed its first ISO audit under the Sinto brand with zero non-conformities.
Ceramic 3D Printing Clears ISO Hurdle
Sinto Advanced Ceramics Europe GmbH has earned ISO 9001:2015 certification for its additive manufacturing operations. The audit, conducted by TUV SUD, found zero non-conformities and validated the company's quality management system through July 2029.
The certification covers the production of technical ceramic components using 3D printing. Sinto, formerly CeriX and then Bosch Advanced Ceramics, has held some form of ISO certification since 2017. The latest audit confirms the company maintained those standards through its acquisition by Japan's Sintokogio Group and rebranding to Sinto on January 1, 2026.
Why the Timing Matters
Technical ceramics are gaining attention for their heat resistance, electrical insulation, and biocompatibility. 3D printing these materials is harder than printing plastics or metals because the powders and binders require tight process control. An ISO 9001 certification tells aerospace, medical, and industrial customers that the shop floor can repeat what the lab proved.
The certificate arrives as ASTM is working on a separate framework for certifying 3D-printed ceramic parts. Sinto's quality manager led the audit process, and the company plans to use the certification to support qualification work for customers in semiconductors, aerospace, and medical devices.
