TAAG Global and the University of Bristol Business School have launched the Advanced Manufacturing Observatory, a live intelligence platform aimed at the growing gap between additive manufacturing momentum and actual commercial success.

The platform is built around the observation that the technology itself is no longer the main barrier. Vincenzo Belletti, Director of EU Affairs at CECIMO, put it plainly in 3D Printing Industry's 2026 Executive Survey: the priority has shifted to repeatable industrial use, stronger market uptake, and viable business cases. The Observatory is meant to supply the missing layer: market intelligence, business model frameworks, and commercial strategy for manufacturers and investors.

Market intelligence in additive manufacturing has historically been fragmented. Companies often have access to technical data but lack the commercial context to turn a validated process into a sustainable revenue stream.
