The ugee Funbox is a child-friendly 3D printer with UL GREENGUARD certification, one-tap operation, and AI-assisted creative tools for ages 6 to 12.

A printer built around safety and simplicity

ugee has started shipping the Funbox, a desktop 3D printer aimed at children and first-time users. The machine carries UL GREENGUARD certification, which means it meets chemical emissions and electrical safety standards for classroom and home use. The target age range is 6 to 12.

The Funbox uses one-tap operation and an AI-assisted workflow to lower the barrier to entry. Users select a model from the built-in library, and the printer handles the rest without requiring manual slicing or temperature tuning. The enclosed design keeps the hot end and moving bed away from small hands.

Initial availability is limited to Singapore and Hong Kong. ugee says it plans to expand to other markets, but no timeline or pricing for other regions has been shared. The official website lists the product for purchase.

Child-safe 3D printers are a small but growing category. Most budget machines still assume an adult operator who can handle bed leveling, filament changes, and heated-surface warnings. The Funbox takes a different approach by removing those steps entirely from the user's workflow.
