What the H1 HT actually does
The H1 HT heats its chamber to as high as 85°C, which covers every common material from PLA to nylon and polycarbonate. Inside, the spool rotates automatically, so the filament sees even heat instead of one hot side and one cool side. Dual vents pull humid air out during the cycle, then seal shut when the cycle ends.
The 3.5-inch touchscreen is better than expected. You pick from 11 presets, or you dial in temperature and time yourself if you are reviving a spool that has been left out for weeks. The interface is responsive and the menus are quick to navigate, which matters when you are setting up a print run and do not want to fight the machine.
Who this is for
If you print with PLA once a month and store it sealed between sessions, the H1 HT is a convenience, not a necessity. Lower-temperature dryers max out around 55°C to 65°C, which works for basic materials but leaves the toughest spools only half-cured.
The open compatibility is worth noting. The H1 HT is not locked to Elegoo printers. It works with any FDM setup that takes a standard 1kg spool. You do not need a new ecosystem or a proprietary holder.
The trade-offs
One dryer holds one spool. If you are juggling five materials, you need five units or a rotation schedule. There is no app, no printer integration, and no remote monitoring. It is a dedicated appliance, not a smart device.
At $70 in the US, £62 in the UK, and €70 across Europe, the price is low enough that buying two or three to build a small drying station still costs less than many single-session workshop tickets. For the performance, that is a fair deal.
Bottom line
The H1 HT does one job well: it dries filament thoroughly and it keeps it dry. The build quality is better than the price suggests, the touchscreen is genuinely good, and the 85°C ceiling gives it real headroom for difficult materials.
