Polymaker reformulated its HT-PLA Pro to stand up to higher heat without warping or losing strength.
What changed in the new HT-PLA Pro
Polymaker updated its high-temperature PLA line with a revised formula that resists heat deformation better than the previous version. The company says the new filament maintains dimensional stability up to 115C, which opens the door to functional parts that would soften in standard PLA.
The biggest improvement is in heat deflection. Where the original HT-PLA started to creep around 100C, the Pro version holds its shape longer. That matters for car-interior brackets, tool handles, and anything else sitting in a hot car or near a heated bed.
Print settings and handling
Polymaker recommends nozzle temperatures between 200C and 230C, with a heated bed at 60C to 70C. The filament is forgiving for users already comfortable with PLA, although an enclosure helps if your printer runs hot.
The company also added a new spool design with better moisture protection. Humidity remains the enemy of any nylon or PLA blend, so the resealable bag is more than a packaging detail.
Who should buy it
If you already print functional parts in PETG or ABS strictly because of heat resistance, HT-PLA Pro is worth testing. It bridges the gap between easy-to-print PLA and the warping headaches of high-temperature engineering plastics.
